CHILLICOTHE, Mo. (AP) - Livingston County authorities have identified a 34-year-old man who was shot and killed by a deputy last week. Authorities say Timothy Frandson, of Marceline, was shot Friday.
The sheriff's office said the shooting occurred when the deputy responded to an accident on Highway 36 near Chillicothe.
When they were inside the patrol car, Frandson reportedly began hitting the deputy with a microphone. The deputy shot Frandson at least once.
He died at the scene. The deputy was treated for moderate injuries and released from the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was investigating the shooting.
